Wesley Cannon Sheets grew up in a McIntosh County, Georgia without a traffic light. News traveled by shrimp vine. The stubborn resilience that kept the Highland Scots in the salt marshes generations ago ran straight through him.
So did methamphetamine.
This is a memoir about both: how a place can shape you, how an addiction can take everything the place gave you and turn it against you, and how the same stubbornness that nearly killed him is the thing that brought him back.

Wesley Cannon Sheets is a writer, author, and lifelong Georgia Coast resident. He grew up in McIntosh County, where the salt marshes run deep and the shrimp vine runs faster. The Life and Redemption of an Ice Addict is his first published book.
He is also the author of The Georgia Extraction, an investigative account of events in South Georgia. He writes about both, because both are true, and because he believes you should be able to tell the difference between a story that happened and a story that needs to be heard.
